TacticalHex World War two

Introduction to WW2 gaming with TacHex
Authors notes
TacHex WW2 is aimed at big battles in smaller scales. As a consequence I have had to look to create a playable game at that higher level that does away with minutia and concentrates more on acceptable national characteristics and military doctrines.
At this level of re-enactment the need for lists of gun types is outweighed for the need to accurately present overall advantages and disadvantages. What TacHex WW2 does is readdress the many imbalances that are generally inherent in rules of this period.
An example would be the power of German armour which is rarely if ever offset by the allies having powerful air assets. Airpower is usually brushed aside as not being modelled at the level the rules are aimed at, yet Tigers, Panthers and 88’s seem to sneak in there in useful numbers.
As examples: In the comms card deck mix are cards that allow the allied player to interdict Axis fuel so their movement is reduced for a turn. Air ground attack cards that allow the allied player to attack with aircraft but in reply allow the German the opportunity to reduce that option by selective card holding. These two are evened out in that German overall fire capability is higher than all the allies.
The rules allow players to follow the various nations doctrins giving very plausible outcomes. TacticalHex WW2 takes micro wargaming to a new level and keeps to the overall TacHex system, learn one system play all periods.
