Tactical hex rules have been specifically written so that players have a number of choices when deciding what scale figures they wish to use, the scale of game, the basing and the aesthetic of their game. You can choose to game in any scale and choose to have as many figures on a base that suits your fancy, your painting effort and pocket. I personally like to get armies up and running quickly so all the illustrations in this rule book are my figures based how I like them. They are all 15mm figures by Essex and the basing is aimed at looking just enough to be pleasing to the eye but keeping figure painting and cost to a minimum. As an example a base of foot has 4 figures to represent a typical strength foot contingent and are on 40mm bases used in many other rule sets, quick to paint and quite inexpensive. The horse have two or three mounted figures. If using 6mm or 10mm gamers can create very nice regiments all on a single base.
